Canandaigua, New York — The Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs are holding a conference in Nashville this week aimed at preventing suicides. A hotline launched in 2007 has answered more than 3.5 million calls, sending emergency help to nearly 100,000 people.

Veterans advocate speaks out after soldiers were denied more than $50 million in medical claims

Dan Caldwell, executive director of Concerned Veterans for America, appeared on “Fox & Friends Weekend” Sunday, and addressed the issue of soldiers being denied more than $50 million in medical insurance coverage.

A new Inspector General’s report published in August found over $53 million in legitimate claims were rejected  during a six-month period, leaving more than 17,000 veteranswithout care.
